The Death of Stalin is a black comedy film depicting the chaotic aftermath of Joseph Stalin's death in , after thirty years of absolute power over the Soviet Union. Directed by Armando Ianucci. Yet defense of the motherland gets refracted into personalization: Soviet soldiers died with"For the Motherland, For Stalin" on their lips, while newscasts show Iraqi crowds hailing"Saddam.
